On June 6, at SANGU, Professor Irakli Javakhishvili from Webster University delivered a public lecture on the topic: “Two Interpretations of the ‘Social Contract’: Hobbes and Locke.”
The lecture discussed the theory of the “Social Contract” as the foundation of modern political philosophy.
The speaker presented two different perspectives to the audience: the realist view based on Thomas Hobbes and the liberal view grounded in the ideas of John Locke.
The lecture provided the audience with a better understanding of the “Social Contract” theory and the fundamental principles shaping modern political philosophy.
