Project “I Am an Experimenter” Has Launched

On February 25, 2025, with the support of the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation, St. Andrew the First-Called Georgian University launched the grant-funded project “I Am an Experimenter”, aimed at promoting physics among 7th–12th grade students.

Within the framework of the project, school students have the opportunity to visit SANGU’s physics laboratory and engage in various activities under the guidance of Professor Malkhaz Shatberashvili. These activities include:

• Attending demonstration experiments conducted in the university's physics lab
• Conducting school-level experiments independently, step by step, and evaluating the results on their own
• Exploring the university’s infrastructure and academic programs, helping them with future career choices
• Receiving certificates confirming their participation in the project

The first visit was conducted by high school students from the Jakob Gogebashvili School, followed by participation from the Green School, Tbilisi Public School No. 140, and Mejvriskhevi School from the Gori Municipality.

The project will run until May 30, 2025, and schools can register in advance to schedule a visit. Sessions are held on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, with a maximum group size of 20 students.

“I Am an Experimenter” is an important step toward promoting science among youth. In today’s education system, the value of practical learning is increasingly recognized — conducting real experiments in a lab setting and analyzing results offers students a unique opportunity to better understand the fundamental principles of physics.
