On June 10, 2026, St. Andrew the First-Called Georgian University of the Patriarchate of Georgia (SANGU) will host the international conference “I HAVE A VOICE”, dedicated to Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and assistive technologies.
The conference is organized within the framework of the project “I HAVE A VOICE – Building Academic Foundations for Augmentative and Alternative Communication in Georgia”.
The project is implemented with the support of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) under the Czech Challenge Fund 2025 and is funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic. The project is carried out by Consort Georgia and Palacký University Olomouc.
Project partners include Ilia State University, St. Andrew the First-Called Georgian University of the Patriarchate of Georgia, Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University, and Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. The project is supported by MAC Georgia and the Georgian Association of Speech and Language Therapists.
The conference speakers will include Associate Professor Jaromír Maštalíř, Ph.D., of Palacký University Olomouc (Czech Republic), along with AAC specialists Jana Šarounová and Lenka Říhová.
Conference topics will include the importance of communication and the role of AAC, the use of Core Vocabulary, the development of functional communication, practical experiences, and international approaches in the field.
Format: Hybrid (in-person and online streaming)

Georgian-language interpretation will be provided.
The conference is intended for persons with disabilities, family members, special education teachers, speech and language therapists, psychologists, students, and all professionals interested in communication support and inclusive education.
